HOUSE AL

The studio was involved in the design of an apartment for a young family in the Solari neighborhood in Milan, dealing with the project from the initial concept phase to the construction supervision.
The intervention partly transforms the existing floor plan to meet the family's needs, paying particular attention to the needs and possible uses of living spaces at this time and their natural evolution over time.

The apartment possesses large square footage and degree openings to the tree-lined avenues of the neighborhood.
The new distribution of the house includes a large living area, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, service spaces.
The intervention starts with the reorganization of the central space of the apartment, where the circulation of the whole house takes place. Here, a closure maintains the division between the living and sleeping areas, while a custom-made wooden cabinet acts as a filter between the entrance space and the surrounding rooms. It is a single volume, alternating solids and voids, as well as different functions; the same volume continues in the living room of the house and draws a wall-mounted kitchen. The living room is one large room, where the dining and sitting area is set up.
