The project involves the interior spaces of a property in the hamlet of Brozzi whose ancient roots seem to date back to the early medieval period.
In this context, the studio was involved in the creation of a domestic environment for a young Florentine couple, redesigning the different living spaces through the inclusion of volumes that operate as point devices.
The various volumes define new spatialities within the rooms in which they fit, creating entry filter spaces, becoming container spaces, enclosing service rooms, becoming work islands in the kitchen, etc. The volumes recalibrate the proportions of the space, inserting new features and changing its circulation.
The predominant colors are white, black and gray. White plastered walls brighten the rooms. Oak parquet flooring was used in the two levels of the house. Dark tone volumes highlight the new spaces. The furnishings were chosen in neutral tones. Color is used almost as a surprise effect, as in the guest bathroom, which turns out to be unexpected inside the black box that contains it. Or in the bedroom, whose headboard of the bed is also the lining of the walk-in closet and presents, along with the curtain, a hue that is partly detached from the rest of the house.
