The Pontedera Foundation for Culture is organizing a major exhibition that compares two aspects of creativity related to childhood, that of toys, created over time by craftsmen then by industry, and that of the representation and interpretation of children's play, expressed in the figurative and plastic arts in Italy from the late 19th to the second half of the 20th century. On display are masterpieces by Balla, De Chirico, Savinio, Cambellotti, Lloyd, Levi, Zandomeneghi, Casorati, and Mafai. Other artists such as Muzzioli, Corcos, Boccioni, Muller, Erba, Magri, Sartorio, Capogrossi, Gentilini, Depero, Natali but also Pasquarosa, De Pisis, Raphael, Severini, Novelli, Santoro, and Novak make their contributions by investigating the perception of the child and celebrating the wonder of play until adulthood.
